Size, Capacity and Material

With 3.5-quart in liquid capacity, this is an excellent choice for singles to small families from 3 to 5 people. Whether you use it for cooking rice, beans, soups or small roast, it will produce the most nutritious food with depth of flavors in record time.

The overall dimensions are: 7-7/8 inside diameter; height w/lid: 7-3/8″; height w/o lid: 4-5/8″; lid diameter w/o handles: 8-3/4″.

Like all Kuhn Rikon’s pressure cookers, this model sports 18/10 stainless steel with a multi-clad base for optimal heat conductivity via an aluminum disk sandwiched in between two layers of stainless steel.

The steam diffuser is made of platic instead of stainless steel as in some of the other models. This is a deliberate and smart design feature as it displays cooking times of the 20 most popular dishes such as beef stew and chilli con carne.

It’s suitable for all cooktop surfaces such as gas, electric, ceramic and induction.

Safety Features

The five level safety systems take the guesswork and the danger out of pressure cooking detailed as follows:
1. The lid is locked via automatic locking throughout the entire pressure building and release processes.
2. The pressure inside of the cooker is regulated with a primary spring-loaded valve.
3. The safety holes in the rim of the lid function as a redundancy measure in the event that the primary valve is blocked.
4. A second spring-valve is built into the cooker as the third line of defense.
5. If all the above failed, the gasket will be forced out via the flanges in the lid to allow the steam to release in a downward motion.

1 Handle

Only one long handle is available in this model.

2 Pressure Settings

The cooker is designed with two pressure levels of 8 and 15 psi (pounds per square inch). The pressure level is indicated as two red lines on the stem of the primary valve (the first as 8 and the second as 15 psi).

3 Pressure Release Methods

The pressure may be released via one of the three methods. The fist is the “natural release” method where you remove the cooker from the heat source and let it cool off on its own accord. The second is called “cold water” method by which you remove the cooker from the hob and place it under cold running water for faster release. The third is to gently press the stem on top of the lid until the pressure is fully escaped.

Easy to Use and Clean

One golden rule with any pressure cooker is to read the User Manual carefully and follow the instructions judiciously.

The cooking pot is dishwasher safe. Wash the gasket, the valves by hand in warm soapy water. Store the gasket inside of the lid when not in use to ensure it remains to be pliable. Replace it if you see any signs of wear and tear.

A Quick Cuisine Cookbook valued at $14 with over 100 pages of recipes & tips is included in the purchase.
